New Delhi: Actors Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra’s film ‘Ishaqzaade’ made Rs 5.2 crore, according to early estimates, on its Friday opening, said film trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Saturday. Ishaqzaade also had the fifth biggest opening after Agneepath, Housefull 2, Agent Vinod and Jannat 2, Adarsh tweeted.
The fate of Arjun’s acting career also depended on the release of his debut film ‘Ishaqzaade’. The Yash Raj Films (YRF) project will also be a test for ‘Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl’ actress Parineeti Chopra, for whom ‘Ishaqzaade’ will be her first solo release.

Arjun had to shed 50 kg to get fit for the role he plays in the film, made at a budget of Rs 25 crore. Arjun credited Salman for being more than a mentor.
Faisal took 45 days to finalise Arjun for ‘Ishaqzaade’ and the newcomer said he is happy to have scored a film on his own. Arjun is producer Boney Kapoor’s son.
It may be his first acting assignment but Arjun is not new to the world of films as he has grown up in a filmy family. Arjun says he wanted to be in the world of films but being overweight he had lost confidence to face the camera. However Salman Khan helped him realise his passion for acting.
